When asked what he has been doing since quitting football, John Obi-Mikel responded with a humorous response.
The 36-year-old former Super Eagles midfielder was available for the September 9 match between Chelsea Legends and Bayern Munich.
In a match intended to honor the late striker Gianluca Vialli, who died away earlier this year, Chelsea Legends, who fielded a very good lineup on the day, won 4-0.
After the game, Mikel was one of the legends who talked to the media, and he was questioned about the club’s problems.
“They need to bring us back – I’m joking,” he stated.
The Nigerian is confident that despite the club’s current significant instability, the Blues will be OK and only need time.
“There are a lot of good, fantastic young players. We need to give them time; we need to make sure they get time to work on the training ground and start to gel together as a team,” he added.
