Lord Bawa Martey, a former goalie for Dreams FC, has described how a wealthy man snatched his girlfriend because he couldn’t handle her with his meagre finances.
The 25-year-old speaker was discussing how badly compensated professional athletes are.
Martey, who played for Dreams FC last season, used himself as an example when he revealed that due to his poor pay, he once lost his fiancée to a wealthy man.
“Someone simply snatched my girlfriend. She left me because of money. In the beginning, she was all cool because of the publicity I was getting but publicity wasn’t enough to keep her,” he said.

“She complained a lot and I was always giving excuses about bad salaries so when a rich man came she left. I don’t fault her.”
