In response to the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s (PURC) sanctions for the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) failure to submit a load-shedding schedule, the board of directors of the company has fought back against the against the claims of the PURC.
Lawyers for the board said that the Commission did not have the same authority as the High Court to impose sanctions in a letter dated April 17.
They underlined that board members shouldn’t be held personally accountable for management choices because they aren’t involved in day-to-day operations.
