The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Serbian tactician Milovan Rajevac as the new head coach of the Black Stars.
The Serbian takes over from CK Akonnor who was sacked on September 14 after a string of poor performances.
The 67-year-old was on Friday, September 24 unveiled at the GFA secretariat for his second stint with the Black Stars with Maxwell Konadu and Otto Addo appointed as first and second assistant respectively.
He has been tasked to qualify Ghana for the World Cup 2022 and win next year’s AFCON in Cameroon. Should he achieve that he would receive $600,000, according to reports.
Rejavac’s first hurdle will be a doubleheader against Zimbabwe in the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers scheduled for next month.
Ghana will take on Zimbabwe on Match Day 3 of the qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1600Hrs.
The Black Stars currently sit in second place in the Group G table with 3 points following a win against Ethiopia and a defeat to South Africa.
