On Friday night around 11:11 p.m. local time, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook the Moroccan region of Ighil, which is located about 40 miles south of Marrakech. The death toll has increased dramatically since the earthquake struck, making it one of the strongest and most catastrophic to ever strike the nation.
According to the interior ministry of Morocco, at least 820 people have died and 672 more have been injured, 205 of whom have been labeled as “seriously hurt.”
