The fact that Asante Kotoko was held to a draw in the weekend’s Ghana Premier League (GPL) game, in the opinion of Asante Kotoko’s assistant coach at Nsoatreman FC, Boniface Ayipah, was lucky for Asante Kotoko.
The two teams faced off on Saturday in Week 18 of the current Ghanaian top-flight league season.
After 90 minutes, there had been no goals, therefore the two teams had to settle for a point each.
In his post-game interview, Nsoatreman FC assistant coach Boniface Ayipah asserted that his team was superior.
“Kotoko did not create a single goal-scoring chance. Their defensive network was solid and their goalkeeper was fantastic and it was the goalkeeper that saved them.
“Technically and tactically we drew with Kotoko but we were ahead of them because we created about three goalscoring chances which we couldn’t make good use of,” the coach bragged.
Asante Kotoko are now seven points behind Aduana Stars, the team currently leading the Ghana Premier League rankings, after dropping points over the weekend.
