Otto Addo, the coach of Ghana, believes that whether or not he is in the dugout during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Black Stars would play well.
On Monday, November 14, 2022, Otto Addo, one of five local coaches guiding Africa’s representatives at the World Cup, announced his final 26-man roster.
Otto Addo has stated that his squad will improve on their performance in the 2014 tournament hosted in Brazil, despite the fact that many Ghanaians did not have the greatest faith in the team prior to the competition, which begins on Sunday, November 20.
Otto Addo asserted that while he is in charge of assembling and positioning the squad, it can succeed even without him.
“We can beat anyone. It’s up to the players, not me. It’s their performances that have brought them this far. They have the quality, with or without me.”
“I’m responsible for putting them in the right positions so that they can produce their best performances, with and without the ball. They have to be able to play together,” Otto Addo told Fifa in an interview.
On November 24, the Black Stars will face Portugal at the Stadium 974 to open their 2022 FIFA World Cup preparations, followed by matches against South Korea and Uruguay.
