Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, has selected a preliminary team of 55 players for the Qatar-hosted World Cup in 2022.
Thomas Partey, Andre Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, and Daniel Amartey are among the familiar names on the team that was unveiled on Friday.
The shortlist included three local athletes—two from Asante Kotoko and one each from Hearts of Oak.
Dennis Korsah and Afriyie Barnieh from Hearts of Oak are in attendance, and Ibrahim Danlad from Kotoko.
Several well-known former members of the team are returning, including Mubarak Wakaso, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Kassim Nuhu, and Caleb Ekuban.
The team will be reduced to 26 players a week before the World Cup.
At the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ghana will compete against Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay in Group H.
