According to reports, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has booked a meeting with Chris Hughton, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager, to discuss the vacant Black Stars coaching position.
Chris Hughton , the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager , is expected to meet with the GFA on February 1, 2022, according to sources.
Hughton is in pole position to take over as coach of the Black Stars, according to the report, as he is the government’s preference. The FA is thought to be in contact with certain local coaches about the post as well.
According to reports, top FA leaders, including the president, Kurt Okraku, departed Ghana on Friday, January 28 to see Otto Addo, a former Ghana international and member of the Borussia Dortmund technical team. Following that, the FA is likely to meet with Hughton.
In hindsight, the Irish-born Ghanaian arrived in Ghana for vacation this week and hopes to wrap up discussions for the Black Stars post before departing on February 6.
Hughton visited the father of Chelsea youngster Hudson Odoi while in Ghana, attempting to persuade the English-born Ghanaian to switch allegiance and play for his country.
