The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif received a high-powered delegation from StarTimes Ghana at his office last Thursday.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of Startimes Ghana, Mr Maxwell Techie, Chief Operating Officer, Mr Felix Ahonzo, Head of Marketing, Mrs Akofa Banson, Country Manager, Mr Alex Han and Operation manager Li Chengxi .
Mr Felix Ahonzo recounted the entry of StarTimes into the Ghanaian market in 2016 and their resolve to partner stakeholders to propel the Ghana Premier league (GPL) brand into an international brand and the efforts they are embarking on to bring quality sports broadcasting to all Ghanaians especially football loving fans. He added that StarTimes is making more live games accessible on television with a target of 150 live games this season.
“Apart from the decoder, Ghanaians are able to watch live games on the StarTimes ON APP which is easily accessible on smart phones across the country at affordable rates,” he said.
Hon. Mustapha Ussif welcomed the delegation to the ministry and said, “Ghana is a football loving country and they cannot simply afford to be deprived of the opportunity to watch their game and so we appreciate what Startimes is doing for Ghana Football so I entreat you to do more to make more of your boxes accessible to more Ghanaians irrespective of where they are placed geographically.”
