To find out if they will advance to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Championship of African Nations (CHAN), Ghana must wait for the outcome of the final Group C match between Sudan and Madagascar.
The pivotal match will take place on January 23.
Even though Ghana defeated Sudan 3-1 in the Black Galaxies’ second group match on Thursday night, the outcome of the match still determines whether or not Ghana advances.
However, the outcome has given Annor Walker’s team a good chance to go to the knockout rounds.
Nool Al Golozi gave Sudan the lead shortly after the halfway point, but Konadu Yiadom tied the score for the Galaxies in stoppage time of the first half.
With a penalty goal by Daniel Afriyie Barnieh just after the hour mark, Ghana took the lead. In overtime, Seidu Suraj added a third goal to seal the match.
On Sunday, the Black Galaxies were defeated 2-1 by Madagascar in their inaugural game.
