Past and present era of the Ghanaian enabling footballing community, Serbian managers have showed their worth by raising the hope and bringing back the love to the game with their immaculous and flawless performance to the world stage. Who are we talking about? This is no other than two fantastic and sensational Serbians. Ratomir Djukovic and Milovan Rajëvac popularly known as Milo in the Ghanaian territory; back again and his name still reigns.
As the headline clearly states, this article will begin with Djukovic, past glory of Milo in 2010, the tactics and set-up of Milo and finally if the expected goals of Milo in his return can be achieved successfully.
Ratomir Djukovic holds the record to have qualified Rwanda to their first African Cup Of Nations in 2004 but left them after failing to advance to the group stages of the competition; that’s one of the numerous reasons The FA went for him. He spent two years in Ghana as the boss from 2004-2006. But between these two years, he showed great performance at the world stage. In the 2006 FIFA WORLD CUP held in Germany where Ghana were in the in a group with Czech Republic, USA and the Champions of the 2006 World Cup Italy. In the first game against Italy, Ghana lost 2-0 but bounced back to beat Czech Republic by the same goal margin and beat USA by 2-1; crucial goal scored by Andre Ayew. His tasks was achieved that is preparing the team to the second round of the World Cup qualifying series. The Black Stars became the first African country to qualify to the last 16 of the World Cup in 2006. Ghana had to wait for 40 years to be there and had made history in their first World Cup. What a way to show your existence to the world as they ranged fourteenth at FIFA rangings. We were eliminated by Brazil conceding three goals. Goals scored by Ronaldo, Adriano and Ze Roberto in the 5, 45+1 and 84 minutes respectively to pull the curtains down for the African record holders.
On 16th July, 2006, the unexpected happened, Ratomir Djukovic resigned as the coach of the Black Stars after leading the team to the World Cup despite widespread calls for him to stay at the helm after Ghana’s impressive performance but the Serbian manager decided to leave.
Another joy came on August, 2008 as Ghana had another Serbian manager in Milovan Rajëvac. We’re going to talk about him as well.
Let’s set the ball rolling in the first half of the pitch on the first glory Milo gave us in 2010. In 2010, Ghana became the third African country to qualify to the quarter finals of the World Cup and was very close to the semi finals of the World Cup in South African but because of the lackadaisical attitude, immoral behaviour from the veteran Liverpool, Barcelona and currently Atletico Madrid star Luis Alberto Suarez, the dream of reaching the required destination shutted.
After all, it left us with happy and sorrow moment and we all know what happened after the havoc. Being the only African country left and having the support of all the countries within the continent and others around this beautiful continent of ours.
We’ve arrived at the center half of play where we’ve progressed. But, where does this takes us to? It’s just simple; to what makes football great and appealing to broadcast each and every they appear that is tactics and set-up. Milo had a lot of quality players like Gyan, Jonathan, The Ayew Brothers, Kwadwo Asamoah, John Boye, Richard Kingson, Stephen Appiah, Harrison Afful and more who fit into his line-up perfectly and provided results at the time it was needed. He plays one top which is the star player Baby Jet Asamoah Gyan who made a lot of history and currently Cristiano Ronaldo levelled his record as the second player to score in nine consecutive occasions internationally. This shows the hard work of Milovan Rajëvac in Ghana. He’s one of the best Managers Ghana and Africa have had.
Now in the third half and the final half of this pitch and it’s if the goal for Milo can be achieved successfully. The question is what’s his goal? It is to qualify Ghana to the FIFA World Cup Qatar November 2022 and play good transition football; tactically disciplined at the African Cup Of Nations Cameroon this January 2022 Coach CK. Akonnor qualified us to. It’s a perfect start for Milo. The stats shows. A true start to an immaculous football and we all hope that the love finally comes back fully. To a lot of Journalist and the FA we believe that Milo can make history again and the goal can be successfully achieved.
Cherished Ghanaians and the world, Milovan Rajëvac did it especially in 2010, his tactics and set-up are still flawless as he first came to Ghana and the FA’s goal given to him are all achievable. This is because”His blood matches with the Black Stars” said by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Honourable Evans Opuku Bobie.
