Togbe Afede XIV, the executive chairman of Hearts of Oak, has praised Alhaji Akambi and Vincent Sowah Odotei and insisted that the two had what it takes to advance the club.
Following the club’s exit from the CAF Confederations Cup last weekend, Akambi and Odotei are under pressure.
In the first round, Hearts fell to Real Bamako of Mali 1-3 on the overall score.
“We believe that as a Board and management, we have what it takes to move this great club forward. Remember, this is still this team that won the treble in 2022-2021,” he said in a press conference.
“Until we find someone we see qualified to lead this great club, I will continue to act as the Executive Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, supported by the Board and, of course, management,” he added.
Hearts fans were extremely upset after their team was eliminated from the Confederation Cup, and some of them even deflated board member Vincent Sowah Odotei’s automobile tires.
Slavko Matic has been hired by Hearts of Oak as their new head coach on a two-year contract, the organization has announced.
