Below is brief information about Alhaji Jawula :
He was born in May 1949 to a wealthy Ghanaian family in the Accra district of Cowlane. When he was three years old, his mother and step-siblings were banished to the north since his father was the chief of Kpandai.
Jawula got involved in politics while still in high school and rose to the position of prefect at Tamale Secondary School.
After completing sixth grade, the young Jawula was admitted in 1968 to the University of Cape Coast, where he pursued his first degree in English and Economics.
He attended the University of Ghana, Legon, to complete a Master’s degree in African literature.
He visited Canada in 1989 as a fellow at the University of Carlton in Ottawa. Upon his return, he served in a number of ministries, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Harbours and Railways, and the Ministry of Finance as an administrator and Chief Director before retiring with honor.
