Ghanaian international midfielder Majeed Ashimeru was on target for Belgium side Anderlecht in a 2-0 win against AZ Alkmaar in the quarter-final tie of the Uefa Europa Conference League.
Michael Murillo rose to head Anders Dreyer’s ball from the right past Mathew Ryan on 22 minutes to give the Belgium side the lead. The hosts doubled their lead when Francis Amuzu fed the ball in to his compatriot Ashimeru, who steadied himself on the edge of the box before powering a low shot past the keeper.
Anderlecht will be going into the second leg with a good 2-0 advantage over their Dutch rivals.
