Ghanaian international Kasim Adams, on loan from Hoffenheim, was the hero for FC Basel as he scored the first-ever European competition goal of his career which turned out to be the winning goal in extra time to take his side, FC Basel through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Ghana U23 midfielder Emmanuel Essiam featured in the game for Basel after he was brought on in the 106th minute when he replaced Albanian Taulant Xhaka.
Dutch-Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong started in the midfield for Leverkusen and scored the third goal in their 4-1 away win against Union St Gilloise in the Europa League quarter-final to set up a semi-final tie against AS Roma.
