Bernard Don Bortey, a former midfielder for Hearts of Oak, thinks Kudus Mohammed will represent the Black Stars at the World Cup.
The 22-year-old, who struggled to get off to a good start in the 2022–23 season, has emerged as Ajax’s top player, scoring five goals in four games as a force nine.
In a convincing 4-0 win over Rangers and a 5-0 humiliation of Heerenveen, Kudus scored one goal and assisted on another.
He scored the winning goal on Tuesday in the Champions League match between Ajax and Liverpool at Anfield.
The former midfielder identified the Ajax star as the face of the nation going into the world championship in an interview with Sunyani-based Union FM.
“Kudus Mohamed is currently the face of the Black stars and he is a great player; he can go far”
Don Bortey has also urged the Ghana FA’s top brass to keep Kudus from growing comfortable in order for them to realize their full potential.
“He needs the guidance of our football leaders to avoid complacency” he said.
