The Ghana U23 male national team, the Black Meteors,left the shores of Ghana to begin a training camp in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and
are expected to arrive in Egypt later in the evening.
The team will commence training in Egypt on Tuesday with a provisional squad of 29 players.
The number will be reduced to 23 for the tournament after the team’s training camp in Cairo, Egypt.
Tanko and his boys, before their departure on Monday, had been training at the GFA facility at the Ghana Soccer Center of Excellence, where they played a series of friendlies.
The team left Ghana with 24 players, with the remaining five expected to join them on Tuesday.
Ghana will move to Morocco, where the U23 AFCON Tournament will be played, after a two-week stay in Egypt.
Ghana is in Group A with hosts Morocco, Congo, and Guinea.
