Football fans have reacted to the Black Stars’ loss to Comoros in the second match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers on Tuesday in Moroni.
Ghana missed an early chance when Iniaki Williams sent striking partner Antoine Semenyo clear off the defense of Comoros but shot the ball off target.

For the majority of the first half, it looked like Ghana was going to be the team to break the deadlock, but they were left stunned when Comoros’ midfielder Maolida danced through Ghana’s defense as though they were nonexistent to fire home what proved the winner.
What left fans mostly surprised was the starting lineup for Ghana. Chris Hughton named Captain Andre Ayew and Baba Idrissu in the starting lineup, in contrast to fans’ expectations of seeing Ernest Nuamah and Majeed Ashimeru.
Here are some reactions from fans on social media to Ghana’s loss.
