The Communications Director of the wonder club, Accra Great Olympics, Saint Seth Osei, has boldly claimed his club’s goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare, is currently the best in his position in Ghana.
Saint Osei expressed his belief in an interview with max.com.gh that Asare has the necessary qualities to keep the post for the Black Stars, as he had been calling for his inclusion for some time now as he bemoaned the kind of goalkeepers Ghana sent to the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.
“Look at his height as a goalkeeper and all that, the experience he has got and the way and manner he commands his defense and what have you. I think it about he’s called into the Black Stars.
I was surprised at the kind of goalkeepers we [Ghana] took to the AFCON; at least if there was going to be a local goalkeeper, it should’ve been him. I wouldn’t have been surprised if Benjamin Asare kept the post for Ghana very well than all the goalkeepers we have.”

However, the 31-year-old goalie lost out to Frederick Asare in the new 26-man squad called up by the returning coach, Otto Addo.
The Dade goalkeeper, touted to be the best in Ghana, has kept 13 clean sheets of the season compared to the new Black Stars’ call-up, Frederick Asare’s six.
