“I know I’ve avenged you, Rachel. But what hurts the most is that, despite finishing off your killer, I know I won’t get you back. I couldn’t fulfill the promise I made about being there to protect you. I’m sorry, Rachel. I failed you.
Apollo finds out about Pablo being dead and considers getting rid of his son if he gets in his way. Meanwhile, Verna regains consciousness at the hospital and asks for her daughter. Cita, the nurse and Tomas take turns covering up the truth before she’s eventually put to sleep, syringe style.
Without wasting time, Tomas has Verna moved to the mansion after converting one of the rooms so he could control the situation. A moment later at the Tuazon mansion, Rachel is laid in state and the family mourn her death.
Delfin goes on about how Cardo and Alyana’s fathers used to be close friends and partners. Teddy recounts how fearless and reliable Pablo was. Cardo reflects sadly on how his father’s case hasn’t been solved until now, and Delfin reveals that Pablo had been after a drug and child-trafficking syndicate when he had perished.
Cardo asks Teddy whether he has any leads that could point to the killer. Teddy replies in the negative. During the drive home, Alyana asks her father if he’s hiding something from Cardo. Teddy admits to it but refuses to speak up for the sake of his family.
Verna wakes up to see Rachel standing over her. She asks her mother not to worry about her, saying that she’s fine. Upon her mother’s request, she promises to never leave her and eventually talks her to sleep. It is then revealed that the person isn’t really Rachel but the nurse Tomas had hired to “take care” of her. Col.
Carreon arrives at the Tuazon mansion with some of his men to extend his condolences, promising to do everything to get justice for Rachel.
“They will never find out what happened,” Joaquin assures his dad after the other officers have left.
“What about him?” Tomas asks.
Joaquin turns to see Cardo approaching with Delfin and Benny. Delfin offers Don Emilio his condolences and Cardo tries to do same with Tomas who gives him an annoyed look before shaking his hand and moving further away. Delfin asks about the incident and Don Emilio then begins putting up a pathetic display of emotions, even claiming that Verna is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
Later, Cardo asks Joaquin about the shooting and soon notices some crucial differences between his story and Emilio’s. Before leaving, Cardo promises grumpy Tomas that he’ll never stop until he finds the person who did that to his family.
Cardo informs his grandpa about the conflicting statements of Joaquin and Don Emilio. Delfin insinuates that they could just be confused. Meanwhile, Apollo celebrates Don Emilio’s misery and plans to raid all the drug labs of the Tuazons. At the mansion, Tomas ups his efforts in hiding the truth from Verna. He later orders Andrea the nurse to keep Verna sedated and make sure Cita won’t be able to talk to her. Emilio tries to talk his son-in-law out of his madness but Tomas insists on going on with his plan lest Verna commit suicide once she learns the truth.
“I’ve already lost a daughter,” Tomas says. “I won’t allow myself to lose a wife too.”
“You’ve already lost her,” Don Emilio points out. “Before all this.”
Cardo is sleeping peacefully in his bed when a familiar voice starts calling out his name constantly, asking him to help her and seek justice for her death. The lapdogs of Joaquin update him about the new developments in the case and he orders them to lead Cardo away from the evidence. Meanwhile, someone stakes out the vicinity of the Tuazons’ secret drug lab and some workers soon spot him.
“Tell your men to work a little faster,” Tomas says to Joaquin at the mansion. “Because I won’t bury Rachel until I eliminate the people who did this to her.”
Somewhere in the cemetery, some goons beat up the spy and inform Tomas about the rat they’ve caught. A moment later, the Tuazons torture the living daylights out of the unfortunate guy and he confesses to being a henchman of Apollo. Don Emilio then threatens to put holes in his body if he doesn’t tell them where Apollo is. Soon enough, Tomas, Emilio and Joaquin gear up for battle.
Jerome sorts out the issue with Lorraine at school, just as Alyana talks Cardo into giving her some info on the Tuazon case to help with her report. Cardo obliges and asks that they air the CCTV footage so they could track down the cars that had been used in the attack.
Meanwhile, Don Emilio and the Tuazons initiate their revenge as they infiltrate Apollo’s hideout and gun down his amateur henchmen in spectacular fashion. Eventually, Tomas blindsides Apollo as Joaquin and Emilio surround him.
Don Emilio kicks a bloodied Apollo into a grave, mocking him with the free burial he’s won. He then proceeds to bury him, with Tomas silently vowing to give his family a taste of his revenge. At the mansion, Andrea the nurse tries to feed Verna and when she refuses to eat, she puts her to sleep. Sedation style. Back at Apollo’s free burial, the unfortunate miserable guy has been buried deep in dirt except for his head. Emilio spits on him and Tomas mercilessly unloads a barrage of bullets.
Having had his wish granted, Tomas proceeds with Rachel’s burial. Joaquin and Emilio reflect on some memories as they mourn their loss. Tomas recalls some memories of his own, as well as the last heartbreaking revelation. “I know I’ve avenged you, Rachel. But what hurts the most is that, despite finishing off your killer, I know I won’t get you back. I couldn’t fulfill the promise I made about being there to protect you. I’m sorry, Rachel. I failed you.”
