Real Madrid and defending champions Manchester City played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the first of their UEFA Champions League quarter-finals tie on Tuesday night.
Two deflected strikes from Eduardo Camavinga and Rodrygo Goes gave the record European Cup winners a first-half lead after Bernardo Silva’s clever free-kick gave the visitors the lead in the 3rd minute of the game.
The Mancunians, as you would expect, had the lion’s share of possession and found their equalizer through in-form Phil Foden in the 66th minute before 2023 summer signing from RB Leipzig, Josko Gvardiol, restored Manchester City’s lead five minutes later.
Real Madrid are not record trophy winners for no reason, as they channeled the inner “Galatico” spirit” to restore parity through the Uruguayan international, Federico Valverde, to ensure the second leg begins on even foot.
