Ghana has suffered a huge defeat as non of the boxers presented for the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers in Dakar secured a ticket to France.
With 11 out of the 12 already eliminated as of Thursday, September 14, 2023, Ghanaians were counting on Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey to secure a qualification for the country but he couldn’t deliver.
Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey progressed to the semi finals after defeating Ugandan boxer Fathia Shafik Mawanda in the quarterfinals of the men’s flyweight division.
However, his journey came to an end when he faced Ala Eddine Zidi of Tunisia in the semifinals which ends Ghana’s journey in Senegal for the qualifiers.

12 boxers with the notable one being UK-based Seth Gyimah alias Freezy Macbones have all been eliminated in the qualifiers.
