Newcastle United are looking to secure Portuguese international Ruben Neves on a loan deal from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal in January.
The former Wolves captain has been identified as an ideal replacement for Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, who has commenced his 10-month ban for betting offenses.
Reports circulating in the English media indicate that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has asked his bosses to explore the possibility of bringing Neves back to the Premier League after he moved to Saudi Arabia in June for a hefty amount to join Al Hilal.
The transfer is expected to not be complicated since Al Hilal is owned by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, the same group running the Magpies.
