Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) ahead of the commencement of the 2021/2022 season of the Ghana Premier League reiterated the organization’s commitment to fighting hooliganism in Ghana football.
The betPawa Premier League and the other lower leagues have been plagued with several hooliganism attacks over the years.
This weekend’s incident at Dormaa was no exception as players of Tamale City FC were in their bus about to leave the match venue when a section of Aduana FC fans began to pelt stones at the bus of the boys from Tamale with stones.
A striker for Tamale City, Isaac Mensah, suffered a cut on his left eye after he was hit with a stone by some fans of Aduana FC.
The Ghana Football Association has announced today, 3rd April 2023, the temporary ban on the league leaders Aduana FC from using the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park as its home venue following the match day 25 incident in Dormaa.
Many believe the temporary home ban might affect Aduana FC’s title charge negatively since they have managed to turn the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park into a fortress.
Aduana will face Accra Great Olympics in their next home fixture.
