Former Black Stars player Sulley Ali Muntari has joined Accra Hearts of Oak. On Monday morning, the player signed a one-year contract at the office of Togbe Afede XIV, the Team’s Board Chairman, allowing the club to register him with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) during the second transfer window.
According to information reaching us , Sulley Muntari did not receive a signing on fee from the club and would only be paid monthly salary and allowances.
Sulley Muntari was a vital part of Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups, which were held in Germany, South Africa, and Brazil, respectively, as well as the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which was hosted by Ghana.
Ali Muntari, according to Hearts authorities, is now eligible for the league’s second round.
Muntari, 37, was a vital component for Inter Milan in 2010, when they won the UEFA Champions League, as well as the Italian Cup and Serie A League, and has been a constant fixture at Hearts training fields for the last two years.
When he was on vacation in Ghana, the footballer trained with Hearts, and his latest presence at the club’s training fields revived speculation of a move to the defending league winners.
The club’s recent decision to formalize his partnership with him puts a stop to long-running speculations of his transfer to Hearts.
Muntari is one of a select group of players that have returned to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after spending time in Europe.
Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, joined Legon Cities last season, while Odartey Lamptey and Bafour Gyan both played for Kotoko before retiring.
With a great match against Asante Kotoko, Hearts is presently fifth in the GPL with 23 points.
