Legon Cities resumed their recovery with a 2-0 win over Ashgold at the El Wak Stadium on Sunday, quietly moving up the Ghana Premier League (GPL) standings.
They followed up an outstanding midweek performance in which they held Aduana Stars to a 1-1 draw at Dormaa with a straightforward victory.
The home team got off to a fast start and scored two goals each side of halftime to beat the miners.
Ashgold soaked up the pressure and went for the kill on the break, but they couldn’t harm Legon Cities where it counted the most.
In the 12th minute of the game, Rahman Abdul gave the hosts the lead, and Michael Otou sealed the victory in the 82nd minute of the second half.
Legon Cities has moved up to 8th place in the Ghana Premier League table, while the visitors have dropped to 13th.
