NewsUncategorized GPL Week 8: 10-men Sharks hold Hearts to a draw Posted Henrycobblah January 13, 2021 Share SHARE Elmina Sharks held Accra Hearts of Oak to a 1-1 draw at the Nduom Sports Stadium in a matchday 8 game of the Ghana Premier League (GPL). The first 45 minutes was all about Sharks as they dominated play and created some few decent chances. They got their reward in the 20th minute as midfield dynamo James Bissue slotted home the ball to make it 1-0. They stood their grounds and searched for a second but game first half ended 1-0. After the recess, Hearts took charge and put together some neat passes. Left-back Raddy Ovouka sent a perfectly weighted pass to Daniel Afriyie but a timely clearance by the sharks defenders denied him of a goal. Hearts of Oak’s pressure paid off and go the equalizer through Victor Aidoo who headed in a cross from Fatawu Mohammed. After 76 minutes, Elmina Sharks were reduced to ten men after Benjamin Arthur accumulated yellow cards. The game eventually ended 1-1 with Hearts moving to 5th on the table.
