Former Bechem United center-back Kofi Agbesimah has been named the new captain of his current club, Accra Hearts of Oak.
Agbesimah takes over from Gladson Awako, who has now rejoined the wonder club, Accra Great Olympics, in a one-year deal.
Kelvin Osei Assibey and goalkeeper Richard Attah have been named third and second deputy skippers, respectively.
The 26-year-old joined Hearts of Oak at the start of the 2023–24 season, and through his impressive performances, he has become quite popular amongst the fans.
The former Eleven Wonders defender will be leading the Phobians out starting Sunday, March 10, 2024, when they welcome Bofoakwa Tano at their adopted grounds, Baba Yara Sports Stadium, at 3 p.m.
