Samuel Atuobi Baah, also known as Sammy Flex in the entertainment industry, has advised musicians to create a unique sound that will make Ghanaian music instantly recognizable around the world.
He acknowledged that Afrobeat is the current genre making waves globally, however, he charged musicians to add a highlife twist to it for the music to stand out from the Nigerians Afrobeat.

Speaking in an interview on Max Morning Dew in Accra on Wednesday, Sammy Flex admitted that Ghanaian music was not competing effectively on the global stage.
“However, we are not doing that bad when it comes to the estimation in Africa. Ghana will be number three, first Nigeria and second will be South Africa,” he added.

Touching on other factors which have hindered Ghana music to compete globally, Sammy Flex said was population.
He noted that Nigerians have over 200 million population while Ghana has over 35 million, stressing that “if half of the Nigerian population are listening to their music and promoting it, their industry could not be compared to our own.”
The seasoned broadcaster therefore called on Ghanaian musicians to broaden their scope by working extremely hard to win other nationals to follow their songs.

He believed that Ghanaian musicians have the attitude to compete to gain international recognition, however, the money to invest into their craft was the problem, noting that many of the artistes were independent with the exception of Stonebwoy who was signed to Def jam Africa record label.
