MAX EPL: Mateo Kovacic confirms Chelsea departure

Date:

Croatian star Mateo Kovacic has confirmed he will leave Chelsea this summer with only a year left on his current contract with the club.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup finalist has been linked with a move to Manchester City. He added weight to the speculated move when he praised Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side: “Manchester City is a top team and deserves to be in the Champions League final.”

Kovacic is expected to move to the potential treble winners, Manchester City, if they beat Inter Milan in the Champions League final this weekend, next season.

The Croat under Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Frank Lampard made 37 appearances for the Blues in all competitions this season.
