Toothless Tottenham Hotspurs have been battered and bruised by an embarassing 6-1 loss to Newcastle United who move to third place on the league log.
The Magpies did the damage in an incredible 21-minute spell in the first half, scoring five goals. Jacob Murphy got his side on their way by converting a rebound before Joelinton notched a second.
Murphy scored a stunner from distance to notch Newcastle’s third within nine minutes. Alexander Isak found the net twice in two minutes to pour on the agony for the visitors.
Harry Kane got a goal back early in the second half for Spurs, but Callum Wilson restored the five-goal advantage with his first touch to ensure that the Magpies ended the game on a high note.
Former coach Antonio Conte’s rant after his last match for the club said, “They are used to it here. They do not want to play under pressure. They do NOT want to play under stress. Tottenham’s story is this. 20 years there is the owner & they never won something. Why!?”.
This would be the best time for Harry Kane to move to a club with big ambitions if he does not want to remembered as the greatest English striker who never won a trophy in his playing time.
