Counselor Afia, the founder of Open Door Counseling, stated on the Max Morning Show that most spouses frequently don’t prioritize their relationships because they believe their work is more important.
She said that couples’ term to turn their attention to our jobs instead of our relationships because they need to earn money to pay our utilities. Everything is crucial, but since happiness is not just dependent on money, we must act accordingly.
Couples must intentionally set aside time for one another, especially when they are aware of their busy schedules.
She continued that, due to how the world is changing and the current state of our economy, if one doesn’t purposely make time for their partner, issues of not prioritizing the relationship will pop up.
She suggested that couples set aside time, even if it’s just once or twice a month, to go out and enjoy themselves.
