Speaking in an interview with Max Morning Dew in Accra on Tuesday, Lydia said there were necessary protocols one have to go through before employing house helps or care givers.
“You must make sure the person brings a guarantor or a family member. Do a background check on the person to ensure they have no criminal record. You must also ensure to do a medical test on the person to find out if the person has health issues which are communicable,” she said.
Lydia observed that many were facing problems with their domestic helps due to negligence, hence expressed urgent need for them to contact relevant agencies to get trained domestic helpers and nannies who have passed through due process.
“Don’t just employ anyone out of pity or out of good fate because when people are in need, they can pretend to be good but once you assist them, you then get to know their real colors or attitude,” she added.

Lydia also advised homeowners to know how to talk to their house helps and other domestic helpers as their words and treatment could compel those assistance to act evil against them.
“You must be spiritual and prayerful because we all have individual behaviours and attitudes due to our different cultural backgrounds and beliefs,” she added.
