The month of June is revered as a month to celebrate courageous men, both living and past, to celebrate them for their good works, and also to encourage others to follow suit on the Max Morning Dew on Max 89.7 FM from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. every weekday.
In an interview on the show, Lawyer Yaw Anokye Frimpong, who is also a historian, educated the listeners on the history of the thirteenth King of the Ashanti Empire and the Oyoko Abohyen Dynasty, Otumfuo Nana Prempeh I.

Lawyer Anokye revealed how Otumfuo Nana Prempeh I, though he wasn’t educated, loved education and helped establish schools such as Prempeh College, Pope John’s Senior High School, Opoku Ware Senior High School, Arch Bishop Porter Girls School, and also universities such as the University of Gold Coast, which is now known as the University of Ghana.
He also provided the land on which the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology was built. These educational facilities are still standing and functioning to date, and they are revered as some of the best educational facilities in the country.
To conclude the interview, Lawyer Anokye stated one of Nana Prempeh I’s famous sayings: “Because of money, a person with rotten teeth can laugh and be applauded,” explaining that the proverb basically means that no matter who you are, you can make it and be celebrated if you’re hard-working and determined.
Nana Prempeh He was one of the greatest kings who ruled the Ashanti empire, and his impact can still be seen and felt in the world today.
