Ghana’s Black Meteors will battle it out with Egyptian heavyweights Zamalek SC in a friendly on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
The team touched down in Egypt last week for a training tour and has been engaged in some intensive preparations for the 2023 U-23 Cup of Nations, which starts next week with all matches live on MAX TV.
As part of their tour, Ibrahim Tanko’s men tested their might against Egypt, who are holders of the tourney, last Friday in a game that ended 1-1 after full time.
The Meteors afterwards have also revived themselves with some recovery sessions and are now in very good shape, with three players from the Black Stars, Ernest Nuamah, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Ransford Yeboah Königsdôrffer, all set to join today to beef up the squad.
Ghana is expected to leave Egypt for Morocco, where the competition will be held, and will host Congo in their opening fixture on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
