There was a regrettable incident here at the Pulman Hotel, home of the Black Stars, on Sunday at approximately 11:25 p.m.
A Ghanaian supporter verbally assaulted Coach Chris Hughton in the lobby as he made his way to the elevator.

Chris Hughton did not respond, but his assistant, George Boateng, tried to intervene and come to his aid.
Thanks to the swift action and intervention of the Ghanaian national security officer embedded with the team, there was no physical contact between the “attacker” and the coach, assistants, or any of the players.

The plain-clothed and uniformed police at the hotel took over the situation and apprehended the attacker.
No official statement has yet come from the police or the GFA on the incident.
