In Nigeria’s opening 2023 Africa Cup of Nations match against Equatorial Guinea, Victor Osimhen’s fast equalizer prevented a shocking loss.
Immediately following Iban Salvador’s opening goal for the underdogs, Osimhen quickly fired past the opposition goalkeeper.

Salvador’s elegant first-half goal was his team’s sole effort on goal and gave them a fleeting chance to pull off a huge upset in the tournament’s second match.
Osimhen missed after getting free, but Jesus Owono made multiple stops in the second half to keep the Super Eagles at bay.
Both teams are now two points behind Ivory Coast, who defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0 on Saturday to open the tournament, as a result of the draw in their Group A match in Abidjan.
