The recent network disconnection has significantly impacted businesses in Ghana, particularly those relying on the internet for promotion and engagement.
With over 24 million Ghanaians actively using social media platforms, businesses are heavily reliant on these platforms to reach their target audience.
Speaking on the Max morning show, CEO of Sintim Media, Bismark Botchwey, said that the disconnection has hindered businesses’ ability to promote events, products, and services effectively, leading to potential financial losses and missed opportunities.
The challenge is particularly acute for promoters, bloggers, and social media influencers who rely heavily on the internet to generate income.
He continued that immediate action is needed to address this issue.
He urged leaders to consider innovative solutions, such as securing reliable internet service providers in the country, to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for businesses and the general public.
“The issue may cause further economic setbacks for businesses in the Central Region until it is resolved.”
