Retired Belgian football star Eden Hazard has named Argentine World Cup-winning captain Lionel Messi as the best ever footballer.
The former Real Madrid number 7, while in an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe, admitted the former Barcelona star is better than his predecessor, Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Individually, Messi is perhaps the only one. I loved watching the Barcelona player, less so at the end, but he’s the greatest in history. It’s impossible to take the ball away from him. Cristiano is a bigger player than me, but, in terms of pure football, I honestly don’t think so.”
Hazard replaced Ronaldo at Real Madrid as a marquee signing after the Portuguese star moved to Juventus before joining Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
