On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, President Nana Akufo-Addo commissioned the Koforidua Youth Resource Centre, one of ten Youth Resource Centres that the government promised to build.
The former sports minister, Isaac Asiamah, broke ground on ten multipurpose youth resource centers that would be constructed throughout the nation.

Among those in attendance were Pius Enam Hadzide, CEO of the National Youth Agency (NYA), President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku, and Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif.
The structure includes a nine-lane track, a FIFA-standard football field, and multipurpose courts for handball, volleyball, tennis, and basketball.
The facility also has a state-of-the-art restaurant, entrepreneurship center, counseling center, information technology hub, and modern gym, offering a comprehensive setting for both intellectual and physical growth.
