Ghana’s national women’s football team, the Black Queens, has secured a coveted spot in the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) following five arduous years of missing out on qualification thanks to a 3-2 aggregate score.
The first leg, which was played in Ghana, ended 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium before the Black Queens were beaten 1-0 in the returning clash.
Namibia scored the only goal in the 21st minute through a corner kick. Ghana was caught sleeping in the box, which allowed Namibia to score a free header.
