Captain of Ghana, Stella Nyamekye had given the Ghanaians the lead through the penalty spot in the 38th minute before Flourish Sabastine equalized for the Nigerians in the dying embers of the game to give her side hope of winning the maiden WAFU B Girls Cup.

However, the Princesses managed to steal the win after a penalty shootout. Norther Ladies goalkeeper, Afi Amenyaku, saved four penalties to hand her side the win.
