Meek Mill, an American rapper and businessman, has realized a lifelong dream after being named the headlining act at this year’s Afro Nation festival in Accra, Ghana.
The 2022 Afro Nation will take place on December 29 and 30, 2022, in Accra’s Black Star Square.
Meek Mill tweeted in May 2020 that he wanted to visit Ghana, but only after a number of unnamed issues were settled.
On Christmas Day in 2020, after rampant rumors that he was visiting Ghana, Meek clarified the situation on Twitter by writing: “[I] didn’t announce anything yet. Lol.”
The rapper, in a 2021 tweet, contemplated: “Like Ghana or London?”
The rapper again in January 2022, tweeted that: “I need to go to Dubai and Africa.”
Meek Mill, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, will headline the music festival with Davido and P-Square, according to an announcement made by Afro Nation today, October 12, 2022. Asake, a recent Afrobeats sensation, is another addition to the lineup.
Rapper Mill is currently trending on Twitter as a result of the Afro Nation news.
He has previously expressed plans to buy property in Ghana.
Meek Mill, on December 26, 2020, declared on Twitter that he wants “to buy a property in Ghana.” He stated also that he wants “a nice house,” and “I need to feel that experience with my family as another option in life! I don’t wanna dedicate my whole life to the American lifestyle I’ve been living. The odds are too stacked against us it feels like!”
“In Africa, I don’t wanna get in politics. I wanna do a few shows and not conflict it’s enough money for everyone. I need to get to Africa!” the ‘Litty’ hitmaker announced on Monday, October 3, 2022.
