Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known in showbiz as A Plus, has cautioned Ghanaians to brace themselves for the worst as the government will not sign the anti-gay bill passed by parliament into law.
When passed into law, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, and queers (LGBTQ+) will be criminalized in the country.
Expressing his view on the anti-gay bill, the musician, who is also an entertainment pundit, maintained that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would never aseent on the parliament’s bill due to the state of the economy.
He said the government was still borrowing; therefore, whatever the United States of America would propose to the country is what the country would abide by.
“Do you know one thing? The United States government cannot force the Chinese to accept LGBTQ+ because the country was not dependent on the USA government. Our government is borrowing from them; how can the country become boastful not to accept LGBTQ+?” Kwame A. Plus queried.
He noted that the act was not natural, but his problem with the whole LGBTQ+ concept was the fact that they had to introduce it into “our educational system” to make it normal for children to learn that same-sex intercourse was not an abominable act.
A Plus indicated that the issue that was in the Supreme Court would be dragged for long and no government would have the courage to sign.
To him, it would be a back-and-forth game between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the kind of government that could sign the bill to become law in Ghana.
“You have cocoa, but it is as if you don’t have it; you have gold; it’s as if you don’t have it; you keep borrowing, yet you want to flex while you’re borrowing. No government will pass that bill into law, so prepare yourself for anal sëx,” A Plus maintained.
