Former BBC Fast Track and host Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has thrown his weight behind former Multimedia Journalist George Addo Jnr, to be an excellent Ambassador for Ghanaian Sports Journalism at the BBC
Ampofo Ankrah was the first Ghanaian Sports Journalist to host a radio sports show with the renowned broadcasting house and considers George Addo Jnr as a fine example of an all-round Sports Journalist with all the attributes to succeed at Broadcasting House, London.
Speaking to max.com.gh, “Probably George knew this was coming it is not a surprise at all if you listened to him. He is a multimedia journalist a typical all-rounder journalist not a football journalist he reports on athletics, boxing and others and happy he is coming from multimedia that stable, credit to multimedia. I think he is going to do better than some of us did at the BBC especially me and Ibrahim.”
“I also joined the BBC from the same Multimedia. George is now a rep and an ambassador and must be humble to recognize the trail blazers who opened the doors like the legendary, Elizabeth Ohene, Ben Dotse Malor, David Amanor and Akwesi Sarpong from multimedia, Vera Kwa Cofie from Vibe FM and the late Komla Dummor.” He added.
“He is going there to represent the whole Ghanaian sports media and I wish him well.”
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is the founder of the Books and Boots Project in Ghana and CEO of Oxygen World. He initiated the Ghana Beach Soccer franchise in 2007 which now boasts of two leagues, twenty teams and over 900 players nationwide.
