Oluboi Commodore, general manager of Accra Great Olympics, thinks the application price for the next Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential elections needs to be higher than the authorized GH50,000.
Delegates adopted a proposal to charge GH50,000 as a nomination fee for candidates interested in running for the GFA presidency during the Ordinary Congress held in Kumasi on Monday, July 10, 2023.

Compared to the GH5,000 charged during the previous elections held in 2019, the new amount marks a 900% increase.
The move has drawn criticism, but the seasoned football executive feels there should have been stronger criticism.
“It should be more, that is my position, the money should be more than 50,000 Ghana cedis. But I would have added that if you’re able to win or place second, your money should be returned to you. That is what I would have supported if I was against it, but I wasn’t against it,” Oluboi Commodore said.
