The dates for the final round of qualifications for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) Algeria 2022 have been announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Six nations will compete for the three available spots in the West Africa Zone B sub region, including the Black Galaxies of Ghana. In addition to Ghana taking on Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire will play Burkina Faso, and Togo and Niger will square off in the other game.
The first leg matches are slated for the weekend of August 26–28, 2022, and the rematch is scheduled for the weekend of September 2-4, 2022.
As both teams compete for a spot in the tournament in Algeria, Ghana will host Nigeria for the first leg and then travel to Abuja for the second match.
Since Ghana’s 4-3 loss to Libya at the Cape Town stadium in February 2014, when that nation finished second in the competition, the Black Galaxies have yet to qualify for the event.
