Legendary Hearts of Oak player Charles Taylor has questioned Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, saying he is unqualified to lead the squad.
Intense criticism has been directed at the Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo as a result of Ghana’s performance against Nicaragua in the second friendly match in September.
Ghanaian football fans anticipated the team to put up a strong showing against the 139th-ranked nation after a 3-0 loss to Brazil in World Cup preparations.
On Tuesday, the Black Stars defeated the Central American team 1-0 after 90 minutes of play.
Following the results of his first two games, Addo has faced criticism, with some doubting his strategy and pushing for his dismissal before the World Cup.
Taylor claims that Addo is unfit and unable to lead the national squad.
“Otto Addo is a scout,” the Asante Kotoko forward said in an interview on an Accra-based FM station.
“His job is to watch, nurture players. He’s not capable of managing Black Stars.
“We need to have a standard for everything. People won’t understand why Kudus Mohammed performs at Ajax but not Black Stars,” he added.
After helping Ghana qualify for the international competition, which will begin on November 20 and go through December 18, Otto Addo has agreed to a one-year contract with the Ghana Football Association [GFA].
