Asante Kotoko has completed the acquisition of veteran goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, according to sources.
The addition of seasoned goalkeeper Fatau Dauda comes after the Porcupine Warriors lost first-choice goalie Razak Abalora earlier this month.
The highly regarded shot-stopper signed with Moldovan Side Sheriff Tiraspol after leaving Kumasi.
Asante Kotoko have agreed to hire experienced Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda in order to replace the goalie and bolster the team’s goalkeeping department.
Since the commencement of the first round of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, the goalie has remained unattached, and until recently, he was working as a commentator for a local TV station.
It is now evident that any retirement plans will be postponed. Asante Kotoko has signed him, and he will likely play second fiddle to in-form goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim.
Dauda was most recently with Ghana’s top-flight league team Legon Cities FC, but he departed at the end of the 2020/21 season.
